I'm not saying that my son is fussy, but he is a little bit obsessed with comfort. If it isn't comfortable he does not see any need to wear it and I am inclined to agree with him. There's plenty of time for sensible shoes and collars and ties when he starts caring about girls. In the meantime, his shoe of choice is always the welly. He loves a welly. Plenty of room to wriggle your toes and easy to pull on and off when you need to rush out and do something important at a moment's notice. L lost his favourite wellies, in a distressing experience at the beach, and after hearing about this, Bogs Footwear sent him some new ones to review, and as you can see, he loves them already!
I always think, with wellies, it's worth spending a little bit more, as you want them to do a job well, and if they don't, there is really no point in having them at all. It's a bit of a waste of time, if you pull on your wellies for a splash in the puddles and still end up washing and drying soggy socks on your return home. With this in mind, we were pleased to discover that Bogs wellies are 100% waterproof, guaranteed. You can tell by looking at them that they have a good level of protection, particularly around the edge, where the sides meet the sole. They also contain an impressive amount of technology, ensuring comfort and durability, The Striped Rain Boots L chose are made with Max-Wick, which moves sweat away from the feet, ensuring they stay dry and also Durafresh bio-technology, which fights unwanted odours. This goes a long way to increasing the life of the product, as long walks in big socks are bound to have an effect eventually and no one wants to wear a smelly welly.
What L liked best about these wellies, aside from the comfort, were the convenient handles built into the sides, which make welly-wearing even more appealing. It doesn't matter how old you are, handles in wellies are a brilliant idea, making the whole process even easier, especially in winter ,when you have thick socks on too. Before I heard about Bogs, I was really struggling to find a pair of age-appropriate wellies for L. Once they reach that age where they begin to grow out of characters, boys become especially hard to buy for. This website, however, provides a variety of colours and styles to choose from and it was refreshing to find so many different wellies in one place. The wellies arrived very well packaged and were exactly the size I was expecting. They is also a wealth of choice for the grown ups too, and all brilliantly easy to navigate on the site. The Striped Rain Boots are priced at £35, which I think offers great value for how long they are likely to last and with the added reassurance of knowing they won't let you down by letting in water.
