Gtech Multi Review

I have been curious about the Gtech Multi for some time. I have always wanted cordless handheld cleaners to work well, because they have such an array of potential uses. Everyone has that niggling housework job that would be made easier by having something pokier, or more maneouverable but, finding something with enough oomph to do the same job as a full size vacuum cleaner can be a struggle. I know I have had very little success in the past. They would either lose charge quickly, or have very limited 'suck' in the first place! It's been years since I've tried a new one, though, so I was keen to see what had changed and how I would get on with this new technology.

Awesome Autism

I promised a good friend of mine that I would write something for Autism Awareness Month. I may have left it a bit late, but something happened today that really inspired me. I heard a talk given by a man whose job is to inspire children to enjoy engineering and perhaps, eventually, pursue it as a career. What he said reminded me why autism is awesome and why we need individuals with these particular unique gifts to make the world go round. Here's why... 

Home Alone - How Young is too Young?

Often in the press is the much-debated subject of when it's ok to leave your children home alone. It's always a difficult question, because children mature at different rates and there are a variety of different circumstances in which you could leave your child. For example; popping next door to borrow something, is a world away from going out for the day, or even over night. On one occasion a father was convicted (overturned on appeal) of  willfully exposing his daughter to risk of harm. He spent five minutes in a chemist buying Calpol, while she sat, in his eyeline, in the car outside. On hearing the evidence, the appeal judge was quoted as saying 'This is supposed to be a crime?' Yet, in theory at least, something could have happened to that child.

Dear Mr Nobody

Dear Mr Nobody, you might think you're being sly,
Hiding in the shadows, like a secret service spy,
But let me tell you something, I know your little game,
Whenever there's a mishap, you're the one to blame.

The lid is off the jam again, there's a sticky cupboard door,
And, somewhat inexplicably, Rice Krispies on the floor.
In the bathroom is an empty space where the toilet roll should be,

As the football season draws to a close, fans are starting to get nervous about their teams. Will they make the top 4 and get into Europe? Will they escape relegation? Either way it's going to be close and the burning question that the whole footballing nation wants to know is; can anyone catch Leicester City and how many doughnuts will be in it if they do? Leicester have made a lot of friends this season and gained a lot of admiration, rightly so I believe. They don't have a team of global superstars, yet they work their socks off and have produced some stunning results.
