Today's cheat is less about nutrition and more about playing with your food, 'e' numbers and sugar. Well the 'e' numbers are optional, but you get the idea. Yes, it's been half term and as the nights are drawing in, the kids and I have come up with a fun, and pretty easy way to entertain ourselves and make something really yummy!

Christmas Gift Ideas
What do you do at this time of year? Panic? Hide under the duvet? Plan a holiday to New Mexico? OR are you one of those Supermums who loves getting stuck in and looks forward to it all year? Yup, the signs are all there. It won't be long before the sight that fills a lot of parents with dread appears over the horizon. That blinkin Coca Cola truck! Like it or not, we can't avoid Christmas for too much longer. Displays have been appearing in shops for quite a while now and the adverts on the children's TV channels are DEFINITELY getting longer. So, what can we do to make one of life's most stressful seasons a little easier?

Corned Beef Hash
This recipe is one of the first recipes I ever learned to cook and is brilliant if you are lacking fresh ingredients, but craving something home cooked. This is another one that is fun to do with children,
as there's a lot of messy mashing and mixing involved! Unfortunately, Corned Beef has shot up in price over the years, so this dish isn't as budget as it used to be, but it does fill a useful gap in the menu if you ever get snowed in!

Back to School (A Bit Late!)
This was planned as a back to school post, to coincide with the end of the Summer Holidays. So I'm late, and before you get out the detention slip, allow me to explain. Contrary to the misleading profile picture you see before you, I don't really drink. And I can promise I was stone cold sober when I tripped, coming in from the garden, and splayed myself, inelegantly, across the living room carpet. I remained there, rug-like, for quite a while, until I concluded that I must've broken at least one bone. After spending seven hours in Frenchay Hospital having no less than nine X-rays, it turned out I'd broken two.
