You may remember my lovely friend Lisa from the previous post Remembering Jack. She and her family have had a difficult year or so and have shown enormous strength and solidarity throughout. Not least, young Jesse, who, at just ten tears old, has had to endure more trauma and heart ache in his young life, than you would wish on anyone, big or small. So, when Lisa told me about a competition to win Jesse his dream prize, I was very, very glad to assist. ‘Help!’ she said. ‘I have to write about why Jesse is their biggest fan, but I’m HOPELESS with words!’ She’s really not, as you will see below, but anyway…

Cleaning, Fun?! H20X5 Steam Cleaning System Review
I try not to do too many reviews, because I don't want to get boring, but I couldn't resist this fantastic offering from the lovely people at Thane who kindly sent it free, for me to play with. I love this company, because they think very hard about how to make life easier and as you will have possibly noticed, I am all about the fun aspects of parenting, so making the mundane bits easier and quicker suits me fine. So... what have I got for you today. No, NEXT TO the small boy in stripey socks! Isn't it awesome? It is, in fact, an H20X5 Steam Cleaning System and I have to say, I love it. I chose red, bu it also comes in white and the original green.

Moments that Mattered
Was it just me, who found 2013 to be very, very short?! I know that for most of it, we didn't have a lot of spare cash, so exciting trips were thin on the ground, but it just seemed to fly by. I've been trying to think of my most memorable moment, which got me thinking about memorable moments in general. It's a bit like trying to define 'normal' or 'best', or trying to quantify pain. How do you compare, when moments can be amazing for all sorts of reasons? So, I have picked one, but it's not the only one, really, it's too hard to choose!

Thanks Natwest!
Last night, I noticed I had a missed call on my mobile. The message requested I call the Natwest Fraudline about suspected fraudulent use of my bank card. I was not concerned, because I've had this call before, and it turned out to be a genuine transaction. However, I thought I'd better humour them, so when I remembered, the next day (oops!), I gave them a call. What followed was a recorded message containing a list of (fairly mundane) transactions I had made, using my debit card, in the previous couple of days. Petrol: £5, Tescos: £12.98, Tescos: £3.40, more Petrol: £5, Sainsburys... I concluded at this point that I have a really serious Supermarket habit... Western Union £402! Erm, Pardon?! Panic set in. The voice carried on blethering. Co Op... Aldi... I'd stopped listening. What was going on??!!
