It's not Goodbye...

It's not goodbye, but it is au revoir. For a little while anyway. The blog will be out of action for a week or two, while I switch internet providers. Hopefully I will be back really soon and able to do more with the blog, with a better broadband connection. See you all soon!

Ode to Someone Special

White Roses Just because I wasn't there,
It doesn't mean I didn't care.
In thought, in memory, every day,
As if you never went away.

I may have seemed distracted some,
A worker, friend, a person, mum,
With lots to do, deadlines meeting,
Our precious moments, all so fleeting.

The Versatile Blogger Award

Welcome to The Versatile Blogger Award! A lovely way to introduce new bloggers and celebrate established ones! (I nearly said 'old ones', but thought best not risk it!) I've got a bit obsessed with blogging since I had to leave my job. I really liked my job, but it just wasn't practical to spend more in busfares than I earned for working there! so it had to go. It's only been a week and I can feel myself going quietly loopy. So, as well as job applications, the blog is giving me some much needed sanity and routine! I've been really lucky, though, because I have met some lovely people who have been so supportive and patient while I work it all out. So, this is my chance to give a little wave to some great blogs that deserve a bit of recognition. But, first of all, the rules...

What it is to Fail

`Boy throwing stones into the river Severn
I started writing this during the summer holidays, but it took a long time to get it right, as I couldn't seem to put into words what I was trying to say. It's a little out of date now, but I thought I'd publish it as it's written, I hope it makes sense! I can't be the only one who looks forward to the summer holidays surely? I know most of us suffer from over exposure to our kids at some stage or another, but I have to say I love having them home. I love the relaxed atmosphere, doing things at our own speed and having time to actually enjoy each others company. Today I spent an hour lying on my back in a tent in the garden, playing 'I spy' with a seven year old.
