On my birthday a couple of weeks ago, I got an email from Butterfly Twists, the clever people behind those amazing folding shoes that are so useful to have in your handbag or car. I actually had a lot of birthday emails, offering discounts off products on account of being another year older, but most of them required me to spend a disproportionate amount of money to recieve the 'gift'. So, I was a little sceptical when I read that I had been awarded a £25 voucher to use on the Butterfly Twist website. On further investigation though, I found that there was no catch, it was £25 to spend on any product! With Ballet Pumps starting from £25 and delivery from a modest £3, I couldn't lose, so I went shopping! Considering all the shoes are based on the same concept, the variety of styles is outstanding. Here are some examples of the vast array of different designs.
I was absolutely spoilt for choice. It got even harder to choose when I discovered they also made boots! These were a little bit more money, at £40, but I figured they would be really useful if they folded up, because I could take them on a typical British 'summer' holiday, when the weather can do pretty much anything it likes, and they would fit neatly in my luggage! So I went with the boots. A lovely deep crimson colour. In a classic slouchy style.
I wasn't expecting great things from the postman, with such a low delivery price and a huge discount, so I was very surprised when a tiny package arrived just a few days later. I am not exaggerating here, it was properly tiny! Don't believe me? Check out this picture I took next to my phone to give you an idea of scale. (and please take a moment to be impressed that I think of my readers, even when I'm opening the mail!)
They've sent the wrong product I thought. You couldn't fit a pair of boots in there! You could barely fit one boot in there! When I opened the box, things got stranger still. Inside were too pretty little bags, each far too small to contain boots. Have a look at the picture below and see for yourself! However, unzipping one of the little bundles, all was revealed. The bag was, in fact, the boot! It opened out into a boot, the back zipped up and the lovely pattern became the lining. Which I think is awesome and I played with them for ages!
I thought I would write about my lovely birthday gift,
to remind you to register on the Butterfly Twist website, so that you can hear all about the innovative new products currently being developed, like AMAZING folding wellies! Yes,wellies!!
