Fantastic Time at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort

Boy standing at the gates of LegolandMy son L is totally obsessed with Lego. He has been for about six years. My Lego-strewn carpet and reinforced slippers are testament to this fact. So it is understandable that his Holy Grail of destinations is always going to be LEGOLAND Windsor. Pricewise, it is comparable to other theme parks, but it does work out expensive for a family of four, if you are on a budget. However, we managed to get two tickets from Sun Perks and another two with my Tesco Clubcard. It costs £13.50 in Clubcard vouchers, as opposed to up to £50 for a day ticket on the gate, so definitely worth doing! It was such a fantastic day, for a variety of reasons and I'm going to try to condense the whole experience into one reasonably sized post, which won't be easy!

What Do You Want for Your Children? - A Poetry Wave

A duck and her ducklings on a river bankI had an idea for a poem and as I started writing, I realised it was going to be really difficult to finish. The subject, originally, was 'What I Want for My Children', and it was meant to be a little poem about all those things we wish for our children as they grow and make their own way in the world. It got me thinking, though, that there are probably a hundred different wishes we would make for our children, which gave me an idea. It would be really interesting to hear different people's ideas for their children's future. Please add a verse in the comments, if you would like to.

Why I Didn't Change my Profile Picture for Orlando

An olive branch graphic with Remembrace and Peace text. At 2am local time on Sunday 12th of June, tragedy struck in Orlando. Innocent people suffered at the hands of hatred and violence. All over the world people felt pain, anger, despair. They wanted to join together in friendship and solidarity. To find solace in a shared disbelief at the events that had unfolded. Social media, by its very nature, provides a platform for people to come together with a shared purpose. As with Paris and Brussels before it, profiles across social media lit up with colour to show support for the American people and remembrance for their loss.

Father's Day Craft; Make A God's Eye Decoration

God's eye decorations in different colourwaysThis is a craft that The Husband suggested. I had never made one before, but they are surprisingly easy to do. So easy, in fact, that even he can do it! What makes them especially appropriate for Father's Day, is that you can alternate the colours, so they can represent a football team, or the colours of a flag. Anything that makes them individual. The process of making them is actually really relaxing and I can't recommend it enough for unwinding after a stressful day.
