Blogging it Bristol Style!

A lady asked me on Twitter the other day if I would like to review some delicious cupcakes. Well, I thought about it for... about ten seconds and then agreed that, yes I'm sure I could squeeze in a little review about cupcakes (who wouldn't?!). Now, like a lot of bloggers, I didn't set the blog up simply to review products. I did it because, I am at a point in my parenting life that a lot of parents haven't reached yet and I feel I would have benefitted from other people's experiences at different points along the way.
So I try to blog about situations that I hope other people might find interesting or informative, and sometimes that's a review. Like the Cupcake Lady. Who knew there was a lovely lady in Portishead who makes fabulous Occasion Cakes to order? This came as a surprise to me and might to other Bristolians too, so there will be more about cupcakes in a related post very soon. Which leads me to my next point...

The Cupcake Lady asked me if I knew of any other Bristol bloggers who might like to review cupcakes. I had to admit I did not. Which I think is kind of sad. Where are all the Bristol bloggers? I thought it would be really nice if we could get to know each other a bit better and maybe share this sort of information and any other advice on brilliant local venues or businesses. So, I have a new badge on my blog, which leads to a new Facebook group for bloggers from Bristol and it's suburbs. I really hope it will be a lovely meeting point for fellow Bristolians, which will also create a ready-made talent pool for Bristol trades to find reviewers for their fabulous products and services! Fly the flag for Bristol! Grab the badge for your own blog here...

A few thank yous, as this initiative has been a long time in the planning!

Lynn Fancy, from A Slice of Lemon's Cake for her fantastic video on how to add the badge to your blog, if, like me, you struggle with technology! Can't see it? Join our facebook group!

Mark Barnes, from Mark Barnes Photography for the fantastic photograph of Clifton Suspension Bridge. If you love it as much as me, check out his blog here for more amazing images.

Michelle Ordever, from The Purple Pumpkin Blog for formatting and tidying up the final badge image.

Ooh, with all these thank you's it's like the Oscars in here! Can you hear the final music playing? I think the credits are about to roll, I need to wrap this up! Bye for now, see you soon!
